Zephilia wrist’s itched as she ran her fingers through her hair. She brought her hands down and looked at the sadly pale wrists. She studied her tattoos, freshly set in her wrist. A noise cracked through the air making her sit at full alert. She pressed her back closer to the wall and moved her hands into ready positions. Zephilia slowed her breathing but nothing could be done to slow her rapid heartbeat. Adrenaline pumped through her veins, making her ears pound loudly.
The guard wasn’t even paying attention to any noises she was making. Zephilia smiled at the thick headphones, which even let her hear the loud rock song from her crouched spot next to a wall.
“Oh, hello there,” whispered Zephilia “don’t mind me.” She stood to her full height and swung her long legs, hitting the guard in the temple. She studied his young face and smiled, he would get fired for this. She slid her hands into each pant pocket and pulled out the one thing that she needed, the beeper. It was a little remote that told the outer guards, who happened to be robots, not to shoot. Sliding the precious remote into her pocket Zephilia sprinted to the outer wall.

She pressed her back to the wall once more. Zephilia studied the long white hallways that she was now surrounded by. She closed her eyes, studying the mental map that she had spent weeks creating of the prison. She knew that if she went to the left there was a guard post and she would get caught, to the right a robot repair facility, filled with crazed robots,
“The center is my best bet,” she thought “and then its home free.” She sprinted down the center hall trying to keep her steps light. The clear doors leading to the outside stood like gates of hope. Zephilia’s eyes became blurred as she became emotional at the sight of her freedom. She slid to a stop in front of the door and fumbled through her pockets. A small sob of disbelief escaped her lips as she realized that she didn’t have the beeper. She franticly grabbed at her pockets searching for her fading hopes of escape. Zephilia turned and looked around the way she had come.
“There,” she said out loud. At the start of the center hall way laid the small black remote, seemingly mocking at her sad mistake. She knew that the guard would be releasing and more than a hundred guards would walk down this hall and out the clear doors, pushing their own beepers as they went so they wouldn’t get hurt by the outer guards. Zepilia could see it so clearly, as she had over the past few weeks from her cell window. She started running, once again, toward the small remote. The releasing bell rang out and she heard the doors open from the guard post. She reached the end of the hall and swopped down, sliding and catching the beeper, only to quickly stand and turn around.

Zephilia, for a third time, ran the 100 meters. She reached the doors and pulled out her beeper, pushing the small red button in the middle. It beeped once quietly and Zephilia pushed through the doors. The courtyard was 200 meters long, with pacing robots. The upright humanoid robots didn’t turn and look at Zephilia like they should have, instead only looked straight forward and paced in rows.
Sticking to a path, Zephilia started to run, her long legs helping her in the process. She counted the sickening 22 seconds she knew it would take her to run the whole 200 meters. There wasn’t even a locked gate at the edge of the outer field; “Warren is getting cocky,” thought Zephilia as she pushed open the gates. As she did She could hear the shouts of the surprised human guards who saw the back of her head escaping. She laughed with an uncontainable joy. Zephilia ran to the ship lot, where her old beauty was. The 2700 Speed Kelter was Zephilia’s old but loved ship.
“Babe! Start all engines and lets get out of here!” Zephilia pulled her self into the cockpit and buckled herself in tightly.
“ Zephilia Cassie, welcome back,” rang a monotone, but female, voice. “ Where is our destination? I must warn you that we only have 16 gallons of Presidon, I’ve calculated that this amount will get us safely out of the system and into the Gunner 17 system, but not far enough to get to a Presidon supplier in the Gunner 17 system.”
“ Thanks Babe, get us to a Presidon supplier farthest away from this planet but still in the system.” Babe took off loudly rising quickly up. Zephilia looked out, smiling at all the people looking up at her rising ship. She looked at the outer wall and saw the warden there, noticeable in a black suit surrounded by blue guards. Strangely enough there was a second man, also dressed in black looking up at her rising ship. She saw a small hand rise from this man and wave, as though he was simply saying good-bye.
“But he is saying good-bye… isn’t he?” Asked Zephilia to herself.
